Fil-Am producer’s book now No. 9 on Amazon

Rose Cabrera

After spearheading social-enterprise development programs for Gawad Kalinga and developing fun-filled, feel-good shows with director Nestor Torre (“Manila Vanilla,” “L.O.L.”), LA-based Fil-Am lawyer-entrepreneur Rose I. Cabrera is embarking on a new endeavor—this time, as an author.

Within four days of publication in the US, the book “An Entrepreneurial Wonder Woman,” written by Cabrera in just 18 days, hit No. 9 on Amazon’s Biographies of Business Professionals category, even besting Warren Buffet and Ronald McDonald’s biographies.

The book, the inspiring biography of Techie Gutierrez, one of the author’s 11 siblings, presents a glimpse of an empowered Filipina to the world.

Uniquely Pinoy

“Filipinas are well-known all over the world for being great nurses because of our caring nature, but we’re rarely recognized for the ‘uniquely Pinoy’ trait that meshes business acumen with our nurturing nature.

“In my book, you will meet my sister Techie, who fought the odds and broke glass ceilings in the male-dominated Philippine logistics industry and defied traditional norms of womanhood in a conservative Catholic country, and led her to a successful career that brought her to America—only to give it up to be an entrepreneur.

“She did all those despite having come from a big family and getting ‘kicked out’ of school. The book also serves as a timely antidote to the rising anti-Asian sentiment in America.”

Heartfelt tribute

Canadian writer-comedian Benji Rothman describes the book as “a heartfelt tribute from the author, an entrepreneurial Wonder Woman herself, to her trailblazing big sister. This book is an inspiring read for anyone, male or female of any nationality. It provides great lessons on leadership, accountability, perseverance and compassion, all delivered through a truly uplifting story.”

The book’s paperback edition is now being printed in the Philippines and will be available in the last week of April for P395 (plus delivery P80 in Metro Manila and P150 in the provinces).

The ebook can be bought on Amazon.com and read on the Kindle app in any mobile phone, iPad, or computer. Book sales proceeds will go to Gkonomics, a platform that facilitates social impact investments for the poor. Email entrepww@gmail.com or call Mara at 0906 265-5260. Visit Rosecabrera.com
