“I think the best move for me now is to manage myself.”

Actress Maja Salvador made this statement as she launched her own talent management company, Crown Artist Management Inc., yesterday, March 15.

After nearly two decades with Star Magic, she is now a freelancer.

“Ako po ay sobrang excited sa bagong yugto ng aking career at makita kung saan ako nito dadalhin (I am so excited for this new chapter in my career and to see where it will bring me),” she said on Instagram.

“Sa aking pagpapatuloy dito sa industriya, I think the best move for me now is to manage myself. At para magawa ko po ito successfully, I put up Crown Artist Management Inc., @crownartistmgmt kasama ang mga tao na malapit sa puso ko.”

(As I carry on in this industry, I think the best move for me now is to manage myself. And to do this successfully, I put up Crown Artist Management Inc., @crownartistmgmt along with people close to my heart.)

Salvador expressed gratitude to talent agency Star Magic, which she joined in 2003.

“Kung sino ako ngayon, I owe to them and ABS-CBN dahil sa kanilang pag gabay at pagtiwala sa aking kakayanan (Who I am today, I owe to them and ABS-CBN because of their guidance and belief in my abilities),” she said.

While working in ABS-CBN, Salvador rose from supporting roles to becoming the lead in drama teleseryes such as “Wildflower” and “The Killer Bride.”

After Congress denied ABS-CBN a franchise renewal in July 2020, Salvador followed Johnny Manahan to his outfit Brightlight Productions, which produced the now-defunct TV5 variety show “Sunday Noontime Live!”

Manahan, known as Mr. M in the biz, is a former Star Magic manager and one whom she credits for the success of her career.

Her next teleserye, titled “Niña Niño,” will be on TV5.  /ra
