Country star Dolly Parton got her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and even changed the lyrics of her song “Jolene” for the event.

Parton, 75, received a Moderna shot at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, yesterday, March 2.

“Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, I’m begging of you, please don’t hesitate,” Parton sang in a video posted on Twitter prior to getting inoculated in Vanderbilt.

The singer described her vaccine experience as “Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine,” in reference to her $1-million donation to Vanderbilt, which worked with Moderna to develop a vaccine.

Part of her donation went to an early-stage trial of the Moderna vaccine. Moderna has a 92 percent efficacy in protecting one from COVID-19 14 days after the first dose, according to the World Health Organization.

Parton encouraged others to get inoculated in her video. “I just want to say to all of you cowards out there: don’t be such a chicken squat. Get out there and get your shot.”
