Regine Velasquez’s ‘Freedom’ virtual concert postponed after Covid-19 exposure
MANILA, Philippines — Regine Velasquez’s upcoming Valentine’s Day virtual concert “Freedom” has been postponed after the singer got exposed to a Covid-19 positive patient, ABS-CBN announced Wednesday.
“ABS-CBN Events and IME regret to announce that ‘Freedom: Regine Velasquez-Alcasid Digital Concert,’ originally scheduled February 14 has been postponed,” ABS-CBN said in a statement.
The network added that the Asia’s Songbird is now in quarantine after her exposure to the patient.
“We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused,” ABS-CBN said. “All tickets sold with the original date will be honored on the new ‘Freedom’ concert schedule, which will be announced soon.”
“The health and safety of our artist and staff is our priority and we are thankful for your support and understanding,” the network added.
Velasquez’s now-postponed “Freedom” virtual concert comes a year after her “Unified” concert with fellow singer Sarah Geronimo in the Smart Araneta Coliseum. That concert was held weeks before the Philippines was placed under lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
