Sandra Lemonon bows out of beauty pageants

Taguig City’s beauty queen Sandra Lemonon disclosed that she will no longer be joining pageants.
Lemonon dropped the news after one netizen commented that she could be on Miss Earth in her Jan. 25 Instagram post, to which she replied that she is retiring from beauty pageants.
“No more pageants for me love but thank you,” the beauty queen said.

Lemonon’s retirement came months after her controversial remarks against Miss Universe Philippines, which claimed that there was cheating involved in the recently concluded pageant.
Another netizen then asked the beauty queen to reconsider her decision, noting that her fans “never got to cheer for you in the big arena.”
“Take all the time you need, but then finish what you started. Don’t let anyone dim your light and your kind spirit,” the netizen said.

Lemonon, obviously touched by the netizen’s comment, promised that she is now on her own path even though it is not in the pageant arena.
“Love [crying emoji] don’t make me cry of joy. People like you are the reason why I love the good sides of pageantry. You are kind-hearted and pure. Stay like this forever,” she said.

“Maybe I shall not be in a pageant arena but I am sure I am on my own path & all the hardships/blessings that lead me to where I am today will help me be where I need to be [emoji] with you by my side. I will never have a dim light in my heart, I promise,” Lemonon stressed.
Lemonon was among the top 16 candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2020; Ilongga beauty queen Rabiya Mateo claimed the crown. /ra
