Hyun Bin to star in ‘Confidential Assignment’ sequel – agency

MANILA, Philippines — Korean actor Hyun Bin is joining a star-studded cast for the sequel of action-thriller box office hit “Confidential Assignment,” his agent has confirmed.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Hyun’s agency Vast Entertainment announced the actor’s return as North Korean detective Im Cheol-ryung.

“Please look forward to and support Im Cheol-ryung in his new mission,” Vast Entertainment wrote.

Other actors joining Hyun in the anticipated sequel are Yoo Hae-jin, a member of girl group Girls Generation, Im Yoona, Jin Seon-kyu, and American actor Daniel Henney, a report from Korean entertainment news site Soompi said.

The sequel, tentatively titled “Confidential Assignment 2: International,” is expected to start filming in February.

“Confidential Assignment” came out in 2017. It tells the story of a North Korean detective teaming up with a South Korean detective to complete a secret mission.
