Jennifer Holliday tells fans to vote for Jessica Sanchez

MANILA, Philippines—After watching Jessica Sanchez’s rendition of her song “And I Am Telling You, I’m Not Going,” Broadway actress-singer Jennifer Holliday cannot contain the pride and joy she’s feeling and now campaigns to vote for Sanchez to be on the top 3 of “American Idol.”

In her twitter account (@jennifersspot), Holliday called for her fans, followers and friends to give their votes to the Mexican-Filipina singer.

“Yes, I personally voted for Jessica tonight and also asked all my followers, friends and fans to vote for her!:-),” Holliday said in her twitter account.

Holliday was really amazed by Sanchez and was all praises for the young singer in her song “And I Am Telling You, I’m Not Going” and wished Sanchez could be her daughter.

The veteran singer described Sanchez’s voice as extra-ordinary, and her performance absolutely flawless. Also in one of her tweets, she said that the youngest singer in the competition should be the next American Idol.

“Yes, I heard her! Jessica was amazing tonight! I am honored and humble by her heart-felt passionate performance!” Holliday said.

She expressed her gratitude and admiration for Sanchez especially when the talented 16-year-old girl mentioned her name in interview spot, which made her cry tears of joy and great pride.

Sanchez, who chose Holliday’s song as her second performance of the night made her fourth standing ovation from the judges and from the crowd.
