Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid performed their own version of American musician Josh Groban’s 2007 track “Thankful” to mark their 10th wedding anniversary today.
Alcasid shared their cover on his Instagram page yesterday, Dec. 21, while highlighting the importance of hope amid these trying times.
“This year has been a very difficult year for all of us and we are quite sure that even the giving and receiving of gifts this season does not diminish the sense of despair and loneliness that all of the tragic events have brought to our lives,” he said. “But, as we all always do, we must hold on to HOPE.”
Through their short performance, the couple wishes to remind their fans that “there is still so much to be thankful for” amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Along with the song, they also shared a short video featuring scenes of struggle amid various crises that have affected the world. The couple included photos with their loved ones as well to honor their friendship through the years.
“Lastly, as my wife and I celebrate our 10th year wedding anniversary, we want to share with you God’s goodness in our union with the very gift that he gave us — our love for music,” Alcasid added.
Meanwhile, Velasquez also marked the occasion with an adorable photo of them kissing during a performance together.
“10 years with you [heart emoji] @ogiealcasid,” Asia’s Songbird said.
The couple tied the knot in a resort in Batangas on Dec. 22, 2010, and welcomed their son Nate in November 2011.
Prior to Velasquez, Alcasid married Australian beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren in 1996 but they eventually separated in 2007. They share two daughters named Leila and Sarah. /ra
