Ina Feleo used to be scared of her own wedding—now she feels like having one every year

For the longest time, Ina Feleo was scared of getting married. But when she finally did, the actress couldn’t get enough of it.

“Masarap pala ikasal! Takot na takot ako dati. But when it happened, I was like, ‘Let’s do this every year!’” jested Ina, who tied the knot with her Italian boyfriend, Giacomo Gervasutti, in an intimate wedding at the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo on Dec. 1

“It feels great!” she gushed in a recent virtual conference for the GMA 7 drama series, “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit,” which resumed airing new episodes on Monday.

Ina and her husband were initially planning to hold a medium-sized wedding—about 100 people—in Palawan. “I come from a big family; I have a lot of relatives, from both my father’s (Johnny Delgado) and mother’s (Laurice Guillen) side. So, if you invite one, you have to invite everyone,” she related. “Giacomo has a smaller family, but he has many close friends.”

That didn’t come to fruition because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They had to scale things down, which wasn’t that much of an issue to Ina.

“Honestly, I’m a fan of small weddings. I just want to be with people who know me best,” pointed out the 33-year-old actress, who had been dating for five years before finally deciding to settle down.

Ina described her wedding as “the most love-filled day of my life.” Only 20 people were at the venue—which already included the couple—but the love was overwhelming.

“I tend to manage my expectations in general, but our wedding went beyond our expectations … I was surprised at how intimate it turned out. Because the people are near you, you can see them smiling. You can easily talk to them,” related Ina, who had her mother by her side as she walked down the aisle.

The only thing that could have made the wedding better were members of Giacomo’s family, who were unable to attend because of the current restrictions. That’s why the couple is mulling holding a bigger ceremony once the situation allows it.

“They were there with us via Google Meet and Facebook Live. But I’m sure they wanted to be there personally. So, medyo bitin,” she said. “But we’d love to have another, because I feel like we owe it to our family and friends. So, if possible, we can go party in Palawan in 2022.”

Honeymoon will have to wait, however. “We’re eyeing Greece or Morocco. But for now, hotel-hotel muna!” quipped Ina. “And we have to put our trip to Italy on hold because borders are strict, and there’s a second wave of COVID-19 infection.”

Meanwhile, Ina said she has been feeling “sepanx” after the final lock-in taping with the rest of the “Bilangin” cast, which includes Nora Aunor, Mylene Dizon Kyline Alcantara, Zoren Legaspi, Gabby Eigenmann and Yasser Marta.

“We were there for a little over three weeks. It wasn’t very long, but it was intense. Our characters went through a lot,” she said. “There was a lot of bonding.”

The new setup wasn’t so bad after all, she realized, especially for creatures of habit like her. Because the production follows a strict schedule and all actors have no other projects to worry about, work was more focused and efficient.

“I enjoyed this new system. Since there are set hours, we have ample time to recover every day, so we could always give our best in the next one. It’s nice being able to sleep early and think about what you want to eat after taping,” she said. “You can see its [positive] effect on everyone.” INQ
