Sylvia Sanchez has finally reunited with the nurse who helped her and her husband, Art Atayde, survive COVID-19.

The actress expressed her joy over her reunion with nurse Dianne Engco on her Facebook page last Nov. 25.

“After [seven months], nayakap at nagkita din tayo @diannerific ang saya saya ko,” she said alongside photos of them enjoying a meal in her home.

(After seven months, I have finally been able to hug and see you @diannerific. I am so happy.)

Sanchez added that it was the first time she fully saw Engco’s face since the nurse always had a face mask on when she tended to the couple from late March to mid-April.

“Habang niyayakap kita kanina ang sarap sarap sa pakiramdam na mapasalamatan ka ng buong buo,” Sanchez expressed. “Nakakabilib ang dedikasyon mo bilang [charge nurse] sa aming mga [COVID-19 patients].”

(While I was hugging you a while ago, it felt so good to be able to thank you fully. Your dedication as a charge nurse to us COVID-19 patients is inspiring.)

Sanchez then thanked Engco for taking care of her throughout her struggle with the coronavirus. Sanchez also could not help but tear up when she recalled how Engco constantly encouraged her whenever she worried about dying from the disease.

“Isa ka sa naging anghel ko habang nasa hospital bed ako at nakikipaglaban kay [COVID-19],” she told Engco, whom she now considers a new friend.

(You were one of my angels when I was on a hospital bed and fighting COVID-19.)

Sanchez and Atayde tested positive for the coronavirus last March. After days of undergoing treatment, the couple finally recovered fully and were discharged from the hospital in mid-April.  /ra
