American singer Christina Perri revealed the heartbreaking news that she lost her baby after giving birth, months after having a miscarriage.

The “A Thousand Years” singer-songwriter announced on Twitter yesterday, Nov. 25: “[Last] night we lost our baby girl. [She] was born silent after fighting so hard to make it to our world. [She] is at peace now [and] will live forever in our hearts.”

Perri accompanied the post with a photo of her and her husband, Paul Costabile, holding their daughter’s tiny hand.

The musician was in her third trimester and shared some issues with her pregnancy on Nov. 12.

“[Baby] will still have some challenging issues when they arrive but hopefully [I] can stay pregnant a bit longer,” she said on Twitter.

The loss of her baby comes after she announced having a miscarriage last January. “[We] are shocked [and] completely heartbroken,” she said then.

“[I] am so sad but not discouraged. [When] the time feels right we will try again.”

With this pregnancy, Perri had her first nude maternity shoot. She noted that she did not have one when she was pregnant with her first child, 2-year-old Carmella, because she was “so traumatized by the experience of expanding so much.”

However, her miscarriage changed her view of pregnancy. “I don’t know if [I’ll] ever be pregnant again,” she said.

The announcement of her baby’s death came before Meghan Markle revealed that she had a miscarriage in July through an essay published in the New York Times yesterday.  /ra
