MANILA, Philippines — Claudine Barretto said she underwent an “emergency” surgery on her right hand that was injured back when she had an altercation at her dad’s wake last year.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the Optimum Star shared a video of herself being wheeled into the operating room of the St. Luke’s Medical Center-Global City in Taguig.
“They are going to operate on my right hand,” Claudine said in the video, referring to the doctors who will perform the operation.
A day before her surgery, the actress, in another Instagram video, recalled that she was hospitalized during the wake of her father, Miguel.
“If you remember last year, na-ospital ako during my dad’s wake, and yung right hand ko, meyo nagka-problema,” Cluadine said.
(If you remember last year, I was hospitalized during my dad’s wake, and my right hand had a problem.)
“So chineck ng doctor ko (So my doctor checked it), and tomorrow I have to have an emergency procedure or operation. So I’m asking everybody to please pray for me,” she added.
“Don’t worry, strong naman ako. Kaya ko naman (I’m strong, I can handle this),” Claudine assured her fans.
Claudine and her sisters, Marjorie and Gretchen, made headlines last year after the three had a scuffle at their father’s wake.
Claudine had been hospitalized after her scuffle with Marjorie, and confirmed reports that she slapped her elder sister.
Marjorie and Gretchen reportedly also had an altercation of their own, in the presence of no less than President Rodrigo Duterte, who was also present during the wake of the Barretto patriarch.
