MANILA, Philippines — Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, asked his social media followers to ready their donations and pray for Filipinos affected by Typhoon Rolly.

“Pray for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines then get ready to send donations,” the actor wrote Sunday on his Twitter account.

Many Filipino netizens thanked Ruffalo for his concern for the Philippines.

“Thanks, Mark! Strong winds and rains now in the Philippines! We do need prayers and help for those greatly affected. And here’s my Avenger-loving son smashing the supertyphoon!” one netizen said, sharing a photo of a child wearing superhero Hulk’s costume.

‘To NGOs, or OVP’

Meanwhile, some netizens suggested Ruffalo to send his donations to non-government organizations or to the Office of the Vice President

“Kindly send the donations through NGOs that have transparency in fund use. You don’t want all that aid to go into a politician’s pocket like it regularly does,” a Twitter user said.

“Donate via our NGOs or directly via the office of the Vice President so that the relief goods can really reach our fellowmen. Thank you, Mark!” another netizen wrote.

Rolly has been downgraded to a typhoon, but Metro Manila, the Bicol region and other parts of Luzon are still under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 4.
