OPM icon Ebe Dancel will be holding an online concert later tonight, Oct. 23, to mark the closing of his cafe Entablado amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dancel took to Instagram last Wednesday, Oct. 21, to announce the unfortunate news of the closing of the famous eatery in Los Baños, Laguna, after six years.
“Dear Los Banos, For 6 wonderful years filled with only good memories, we thank you. Some of you went for the pizza, pasta, chimuchurri. Some of you, because it was just too hot outside and we had wifi,” Dancel said.
“But some of you were like me — content to sit quietly in a corner with a cup of coffee, just grateful to be alive and free, surrounded by trees and good vibes,” the musician added.
Dancel will be going live via his and Entablado’s Facebook pages at 8 o’clock tonight.
“Allow me to say salamat (thank you) as we sign off. Like i always say, it’s just goodnight, never goodbye. Please stay safe. #EntabladoForever,” Dancel said.
Dancel also gave patrons of Entablado a slight dose of nostalgia as he shared a throwback photo of the beloved cafe back in 2014.
“We posted this 6 years ago. Notice how different @entabladolb looked like back then,” Dancel said. “Tonight, we take our final bow as i perform on the Ebe Dancel and Entablado facebook pages at 8pm. Our way of saying salamat po, at hanggang sa muli (thank you, and until we meet again).” /ra
