He didn’t want to say it lest people find him insensitive, but comedian Brenda Mage’s life actually “improved” as a result of the pandemic.

By “improved,” Brenda meant he actually earned more and became more popular as an artist after the government imposed the lockdown. “I’m sorry to have to say it; I know it’s unfair to others who are struggling because we’re currently in quarantine, but it actually became an advantage for me because I’m also a vlogger, a content creator,” the comedian told Inquirer Entertainment.

Brenda Mage said that unlike most people, there was never an instance for him to feel depressed because he lives with a group of fun and like-minded gay people at home. “It was actually the opposite. Sobrang saya ko. The more I stayed home, the happier I got because I was with friends, mga baklang kwela. I was able to do more content because of them,” he explained. His followers increased, Brenda Mage added. “Not just those who live here in the Philippines, but also abroad. A lot of OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) reached out to me to say that my vlog keeps them entertained. My content cheers them up now that we’re all forced to stay at home and that their only way to know what’s going on in the outside world is through social media.”Brenda Mage is happy to be able to help his friends, too. “They became vloggers as well. Naiangat ko rin ang mga kasamahan ko,” he beamed.
