How Ryan, Juday keep their individualities

RYAN Agoncillo says jealousy spices up things.

Being married doesn’t necessarily mean doing everything with your partner or being together 24/7, said Ryan Agoncillo.

The TV host-actor, just back from the Maldives where he and wife Judy Ann Santos celebrated their third wedding anniversary, believes that giving space is crucial to maintaining a sound relationship.

Ryan said he and Juday do their best to preserve their “individualities” even after seven years of being together. He said this prevents their married life from falling into a rut or becoming a tedious routine.

“Dapat kanya-kanya pa rin ng diskarte sa buhay. We still conduct our own personal activities, so we always have something new to talk about at the end of the day. It’s more romantic that way,” he told reporters during a recent press con for TV 5’s “Talentadong Pinoy,” which he hosts. “We’re both clingy, but not needy,” he added.

Another thing that Ryan considers an important spice for marriage is a little jealousy or selos factor. “It keeps us on our toes,” he said, laughing. “Sometimes we purposely make each other jealous. When I go out, I make sure to look my best. That way, Juday will be intrigued and compelled to follow me. It’s the same thing with her.”

Secure

And just like most men in show biz, Ryan has had a fair share of rumors linking him to various ladies such as the leggy Brazilian model and former “Eat Bulaga!” co-host Daiana Menezes. Gossip is inevitable and he doesn’t mind it at all, Ryan said.

He stressed that he and his wife are secure enough not to let that kind of intrigue affect them. “Okay nang maintriga sa magandang babae, huwag lang sa magandang lalaki!”

Asked if he planned on doing more TV shows, Ryan said that would be a tall order. He said hosting both “Eat Bulaga!” and “Talentadong Pinoy” is “no joke.” He’d  rather spend more time with his son Lucho, who is only one-and-a-half years old.

“It’s not that easy to accept new projects because I plan my day around the kids (they have an adopted daughter, Yohan). Every day, I wake up at 6:30 a.m., and watch “Sesame Street” and “Barney and Friends” with

Lucho until 10 a.m.,” he said. “He changes every week; I don’t want to miss anything.”

“Talentado” announces the third season’s winner today.

Battle of champs

Meanwhile, Juday made a special appearance as judge in “Talentado’s” Battle of the Champions last night at the Quezon Memorial Circle, where eight of the show’s hall of famers showed off their talents. The results show will be held tonight at the same venue.

Vying for the title of 2012 Ultimate Talentado, P1-million in cash, a brand new car, and chance to represent the country in the World Championship of the Performing Arts are: singers Ayegee, Melbelline, and Rhyzza; ballroom dance acts Dancing is Fun and Craig and Samantha; hula hoop dancer Astroboy; pole dancer Sustantivo; and sand artist Monica.
