Vlogger Lloyd Cadena contracted COVID-19 before dying, relatives confirm
MANILA, Philippines — Viral vlogger Lloyd Cafe Cadena got infected with the latest coronavirus strain before he suffered a fatal heart attack, his relatives confirmed on Sunday night.
According to a post on the vlogger’s Facebook page, Cadena was confined at a hospital last Sept. 1 after having high fever and dry cough — both COVID-19 symptoms.
He got a swab test on Sept. 3, the results of which came out as positive. During that time, his vitals were supposedly normal — no cause for concern.
“There are simply no words to express our heartfelt thanks for the prayers and sympathy you have extended to our family during this time of loss,” the statement on Cadena’s page said.
“Lloyd was confined in the hospital on September 1 due to high fever and dry cough. He was tested for COVID-19 on the same day which the result came out positive on September 3. As soon as the result of his swab test came out, our family, including BNT immediately isolated themselves,” it added.

“All expressions of sympathy, including flowers and cards are welcome. You may send them to our address at #14 Scarah, Kaingin Rd., Brgy. Sto. Niño, Parañaque City,” the post said.
Cadena’s death was announced last Friday. He was 26.
As a vlogger, Cadena gained popularity through his comedic self-made videos. Eventually, his talent was recognized and he got several hosting gigs and radio jock stints.
