Sunshine Cruz’s advice to women with philandering husbands
“Love Thy Woman” cast member Sunshine Cruz, who has admitted to having had to deal with “other women” while still living with former husband Cesar Montano, has offered some pieces of advice to those who might be experiencing something similar.
“To the wives, it’s good to be able to learn how to forgive,” said Sunshine, who plays Kai Estrella in the series. She is mom to Jia, the character of lead actress Kim Chiu, and the mistress of Chinese businessman Adam Wong (played by Christopher de Leon).
“To the ‘other woman,’ it’s never too late to change. Everyone is entitled to that second chance at having a good life. We can always choose a person better suited for us, someone who will do everything to deserve the love that we give. We can do this without breaking another woman’s heart in the process,” she pointed out.
Sunshine and Cesar, whose marriage was annulled in 2018, have three daughters—Angelina, Samantha and Cheska.
“I can honestly say if ever the women who have hurt me in the past would come up to me now, I’d hug them and tell them that I’ve forgiven them. If not for them, my life wouldn’t be as blissful as it is today,” she said. “Forgiveness is really important if you want to achieve a happy life and peace of the mind and heart.”

I will do everything I can to protect my daughters, just like Kai to Jia (Kim). As mothers, it’s important that we are able to show our kids how much we love them and how much we’re willing to sacrifice just to protect them. They’re our inspiration to live.”
“Love Thy Woman,” which also features Kim Chiu, Eula Valdes, Ruffa Gutierrez and Yam Concepcion, is seen Mondays to Fridays at 2:30 p.m. on Kapamilya Online Live.
