Xian Lim encouraged his fans to cherish their time with loved ones as he revealed that his grandmother is now battling breast cancer.
The actor opened up about his maternal grandmother’s condition in a short video he posted on Instagram on Monday, Aug. 24.
“So today’s a different type of day. We are bringing my lola (grandmother) to the hospital,” Lim said while holding back tears.
He then explained that his grandmother will be undergoing a mastectomy, a procedure to remove one of her breasts.
“I don’t know why I’m making this video. I guess it’s more for people to take a moment and enjoy the moments you have with family and friends. That’s it,” Lim said.
The actor then urged his fans to say “I love you” to their family members who are still with them, and to make the most of their time together. He also clarified that his post is not a farewell to his grandmother.
“My grandma is okay. This is not a farewell video,” he assured. “It’s just that I just wanted to share a little of something.”
“I barely share anything. I’m a closed person pero, ‘yon nga, sa lahat nang nagyayari ngayon (but with all that is happening now) I just wanted to share some positivity to my viewers and to all that’s watching na baka may mapulot kayong something na aral (you might pick up a lesson). Just love the people around you,” Lim said.
Following the video, he posted photos of him with his mother, grandmother and a puppet he calls congressman Dominador.
Lim has also begun building a new room in their home, which his grandmother requested.
The actor stated that it will be filled with clowns and figurines, which his grandmother is fond of. /ra
