The stars of the “Pitch Perfect” films reunited online to sing Beyonce’s 2011 hit “Love On Top” in support of UNICEF’s COVID-19 efforts.
“The Bellas are back… for a good cause!” Universal Pictures said on its YouTube page yesterday, Aug. 17, alongside a video of the performance. The Barden Bellas is the fictional all-girl a cappella group that the musical comedy centers on.

John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks also reprised their roles as the film’s iconic hosts, John and Gail, as they explained the reason behind the special performance.
Banks noted that a portion of the proceeds from the downloads of the group’s rendition of “Love on Top” will go to UNICEF’s relief efforts. Among the initiatives are programs to help those affected by COVID-19 and the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon.
The performance starts off with Hailee Steinfeld before separate videos of her costars such as Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson quickly appear in the frame as well. Toward the end of the song, Kendrick shows sheets of paper that read, “As the key gets higher and Kelley [Jakle] takes over the top notes, I just want to say I miss you guys so much!”
Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp, Shelley Regner and Chrissie Fit also joined the virtual performance. However, fans quickly noticed that Ester Dean was not in the online reunion.
The first “Pitch Perfect” film premiered back in September 2012, while the last installment in the musical comedy trilogy was shown in December 2017. /ra
