Local YouTube star Emman Nimedez was rushed to the ICU last Thursday night, Aug. 13, and was reportedly in critical condition due to kidney failure and blood complications.
Nimedez—who is battling acute myeloid leukemia, a type of blood cancer—lost consciousness at around 10 p.m. Thursday, his girlfriend, Peachy Bonifacio Santos, revealed on Facebook yesterday, Aug. 14.
“Bago po siya pinasok sa ICU kausap po namin siya kasama ang team payaman at mahal nya sa buhay and alam kong naririnig nya yun dahil tumatango po sya at nakahawak ng mahigpit sa kamay ko. Ngayon po ay critical condition sya at unstable,” Santos stressed.
(Before he was sent to the ICU, I and his loved ones and Team Payaman were talking to him and I know he could hear us because he was nodding and holding my hand tightly. Now, he is in critical condition and is unstable.)
At the time of her posting, Santos said that Nimedez had not been able to talk to anyone. She pointed out that the photos included in her post were taken before his condition turned critical.
“Kitang kita ko na gusto nya po lumaban. Kasi every time na sinasabe ko ‘lalaban tayo ha’ tatango sya. Hinahawakan nya yung kamay ko ng mahigpit at alam ko na lalaban tayo na magkasama sa pagsubok na to,” the doting girlfriend said.
(I could see that he wanted to fight. Because every time I would say “we are going to fight this, ok?’ he would nod. He would hold my hand tightly and I know that we are going to get through this challenge together.)
“Kaya mo yan Mahal. Alam kong kaya mo (I know you can do it, dear. I know you can),” she added.
Nimedez and his family are currently in need of donations as Santos revealed that they have an outstanding balance of around P1.5 million. They only have until Wednesday, Aug. 19, to pay the amount to the hospital.
“Kailangan po namin ng suporta at tulong nyo ngayon malaki man o maliit ang halaga,” the girlfriend said. “Pera man o simpleng pag share lang ay malaking tulong na po yun para sa kay [Emman].”

Despite the situation, some people have taken advantage of Nimedez’s condition. Santos thus warned fans of netizens including one Facebook user Etum Araneta sharing her post but altering the GCash and bank accounts included in her post.
Nimedez’s good friend and fellow vlogger Cong TV last night held a gaming livestream to raise funds for his friend. Online gaming content creator Patrick Santos also went live to help the cause.
