MANILA, Philippines – Will singer-actor Christian Bautista be moving to another television network after August?

Bautista on Wednesday confirmed that there would be negotiations in August when his contract would have expired with ABS-CBN, the television network to whom he said he owed a great deal.

“Tingnan natin sa August kung meron pong plano ang isang network na talagang makakabuti sa aking career [Let’s see in August if one network has a plan that will be better for my career],” Bautista said in an interview on Radyo Inquirer’s entertainment program Clik Showbiz. But the singer-actor did not disclose which TV network he would be negotiating with.

He also clarified that his decision would not be based on how much the network would be offering him but what projects would be offered and whether these would be fulfilling and beneficial for his career.

“We are not after the money here. What we’re looking for is a job that we will find fulfilling because it’s difficult to be in one that you don’t enjoy. That is basic, so it’s important that you enjoy your work,” Bautista said in Filipino.

Bautista stressed that he still enjoyed working for ABS-CBN, especially now that he would be part of the new primetime drama “Princess and I” and the weekly musical variety show ASAP where he said he started.

Bautista also appeared in “Kitchen Musical” opposite Karylle.

Bautista invited his fans to continue watching him on ASAP 2012.
