Vlogger and “yuOr LOcq4l j3j3 gHuÖrl” Mimiyuuuh was apparently hired by Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo to be her “dance instructor” for a day.
As her personal dance tutor, Mimiyuuuh taught Geronimo some new moves for her well-loved song “Sa Iyo,” resulting in a session filled with laughs and high-intensity dance steps to “improve” the 2003 hit.
Mimiyuuuh said he wanted to inspire and guide the “younger talent” to reach her full potential, according to his YouTube vlog yesterday, Aug. 7.
“Nakita ko talaga na she really needs help,” Mimiyuuuh joked. “May talent naman yung bata pero parang may maipupush pa po and I believe that’s what God made me for talaga po.”
(I saw that she really needs help. The kid has talent, but I think I can push her further and I believe that’s what God really made me for.)
Because Geronimo supposedly “looked like” the singer of “Sa Iyo,” Mimiyuuuh gave her a 10% discount for their session.
The duo reviewed the steps of the pop song and Geronimo requested Mimiyuuuh to teach her his own “style” in singing and dancing it.
Mimiyuuuh noticed that there seemed to be something “weird” with some of the steps of the song, particularly for the lines, “napako ang puso” (my heart was struck) and “parang langit ang paligid ko” (it is as if heaven surrounds me).
Geronimo asked the internet star if he could also dance “Tala” after they danced the new choreography of “Sa Iyo” twice.
“Ang dami mo namang gustong gawin Miss Sarah, hingal na hingal na ko (You want to do so many things Miss Sarah, I am already catching my breath),” Mimiyuuuh replied.
After the tutorial, Mimiyuuuh disclosed that Geronimo was very easy to work with, especially since they were only given a limited amount of time to shoot the vlog amid the COVID-19 crisis.
“I’m just so happy po to be able to help po yung mga future talaga natin sa industry (the hope of our [entertainment] industry),” he said in jest.
“Di ba nakita niyo naman sa video [talagang] gumaling si Miss Sarah, naging mas confident talaga siya (Didn’t you see it on the video that Miss Sarah really improved, she indeed became more confident),” he added.
Meanwhile, the pop star celebrated the 17th anniversary of “Sa Iyo” last June. Geronimo also recalled struggling with her confidence back when the song debuted in 2003. The singer then promised to release a “refreshed” version of the track. /ra
