MANILA, Philippines — Hashtag member Nikko Natividad on Wednesday caused another Twitter storm after he deadpanned about allegations of corruption hounding the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) by applying at the state-run agency.

“Ayoko na pala mag artista, mabagal pera,” the Hashtags member joked in a tweet on Tuesday.
(I don’t want to be an artist anymore, money’s coming in slow.)
“Mag [apply] nalang akong opisyales sa philhealth sure maaabot ko lahat ng pangarap ko,” he added.
(I’d apply instead as a PhilHealth official to achieve my dreams.)
Natividad’s remark was in relation to the recent anomalies within the state health insurer, that was dubbed as the “crime of the year” by PhilHealth’s resigned anti-fraud legal officer Thorrsson Montes Keith.
During the Senate committee of the whole investigation, Keith exposed that a “mafia” within PhilHealth pocketed P15 billion worth of funds.
In another facetious tweet, Natividad said that he was “proud” to live in a country suffering from widespread corruption.

“Gusto ko ipagsigawan sa mundo na napaka corrupt ng bansang sinilangan ko,” he said. “I’m so proud promise walang halong joke.”
(I want to shout to the world that my country is so corrupt. I’m so proud of it, no joke.)
“Partida epidemya pa yan. Pano kung ordinary day lang,” he added.
(And this is even happening in the middle of a pandemic. What if it happened in just an ordinary day?)
Previously, Natividad engaged in a word war with pro-Duterte blogger Banat By, after he dared the latter to take a jab at the mañanita involving National Capital Region police chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas.
