Stef Prescott is the latest Kapuso star to shed her sweet image via the cover of a men’s mag. But she’s not ready for a complete overhaul just yet.
“Deciding was hard, but in the end I really wanted to do it,” she said of “going sexy” for the pictorial. “I had only two weeks to prepare.” She went on a crash diet and did a lot of walking and jogging.
When the magazine came out, her American dad Paul and half-brother Todd congratulated her on Facebook. Her Filipino mom Marisa is always supportive, but is Stef ready to go bold onscreen?
“Philippine TV is still conservative so I won’t be doing anything out of my comfort zone anytime soon,” Stef said. “As for the movies … I’m not going all the way.”
She sees nothing wrong with bed scenes, she clarified, “for as long as I don’t have to show any body part.”
On her current GMA 7 series, “Captain Barbell,” she completely altered her look, too.
“I sport full bangs here and wear a cat suit that shows a little cleavage. Even my friends did not recognize me,” Stef noted. “I play a bad girl, Eva, sidekick of Christopher de Leon’s character.”
That’s the nemesis of Richard Gutierrez’s Captain Barbell, but she thinks the actor is a dreamboat. “It’s a pleasure working with him,” she said. “For a big star, he’s very down-to-earth. We laugh a lot on the set.”

Chard is on top of her short list of guys who are “boyfriend material,” but does she think his mom, Annabelle Rama, is good for a mother-in-law? “I admire Tita Annabelle,” Stef said, a little off the mark. “She’s an amazing mom and manager.”
Among local stars, she picks Solenn Heussaff and Aljur Abrenica as the sexiest. Stef explained: “Solenn’s eyes are sultry and she’s got fierce curves. Aljur was my batch mate in ‘Starstruck’ and I saw his development from a totoy (kid) to a man. He’s hot!”
Clearly, Stef, who straddles American and Filipino cultures, isn’t shy about expressing her views. She shared her opinions on the moves to pass a divorce law in the Philippines.
“I think divorce should be an option,” she said. “But Filipinos are very pious and regard marriage as a sacrament. I myself value the sanctity of marriage, but people make mistakes and should be allowed to pursue their happiness.”
