Dingdong Dantes turns 40, honors Marian and his mother

Though Dingdong Dantes did not get his “all-out party” as he turned 40, the actor remained grateful for the people around him on his birthday.

He dedicated his birthday Instagram post today, Aug. 2, to his mom Angeline Dantes and wife Marian Rivera.

“Today I turn forty. It isn’t a day I imagined five months ago — definitely far from the supposed Oktoberfest-themed, 90’s rock, all-out party,” he mused. “That was the plan.”

“But events may have not turned out the way I envisioned them to be, I’m still grateful because this day is a reminder of His blessings and my life’s greatest gifts,” Dantes said.

As he paid tribute to his mom, he admitted, “I had to have my own children to make me [realise] the sacrifices that our mothers do for us.”

“She literally put her life on the line for me. So whenever I get a birthday greeting, I also celebrate her strength, love and commitment in raising a kulit (stubborn) boy like me.”

Dantes also honored Rivera, describing her as “my rock and core.”

“Building a family of my own and reaching milestones have been a blissful and contented journey because I have her as my partner in and for life,” he said.

“And of course, today, I honor our Creator, who has made all things possible and surmountable for me all throughout these years,” he added.

“Open a bottle of beer for me and distantly, I’ld like to thank you for being part of my ongoing life’s journey,” he told friends and fans.

Though Dantes was not able to celebrate Oktoberfest style, he did still have beer-themed balloons — and celebratory drinks too.

Dantes has two kids with Rivera, Zia and Sixto. The couple tied the knot in 2014 in a grand ceremony that was dubbed as a “royal wedding”. JB
