MANILA, Philippines — Sharon Cuneta fondly looked back on her memories of “Dear Heart,” the first movie she starred released 39 years ago.
“Dear Heart” also paved the way for the Megastar to meet her soon to be first husband, matinee idol Gabby Concepcion.
“Eto na po mga solid na S-G (So this is it, solid fans of S-G). He was 17, I was 15,” Cuneta said in an Instagram post on Tuesday, as she shared a photo of herself and Concepcion when they were teens.
“Things were super simple, pure, innocent,” she added. “Di pa po kami magkaano-ano dito at after shooting na kami nag-usap. Okay na po? Para sa susmaryosep na di makamove-on! Hahaha!”
(We weren’t a thing back then, and we would only talk after shooting. This is for those who can’t move on! Hahaha!)
In another post, Cuneta then said that die-hard “ShaGab” fans pointed out that it was the 39th anniversary since “Dear Heart” was released.
“Naku concepciongabby – ano masasabi mo sa ating fans? Puede na ba sabihin na kung galit sila sa COVID-19…mas dapat sila magalit at this year pa nagkavirus?” the singer-actress told Concepcion.
(My goodness concepciongabby — what can you say about our fans Can we say that if they are at COVID-19, they should even more mad that the virus struck this year?)
The Megastar even joked about Concepcion’s quarantine look, as he now sports a gray beard.
“Jusko di ko kinakaya ang bigote at balbas ni G.!!!Sa buong buhay ko now ko lang siya nakitang ganyan! Maryosep.Di bale pogi pa rin.
(I couldn’t handle G’s mustache! In my whole life, I have never seen him like that. My goodness, but still he looks handsome.)
As die hard ShaGab fans would now, Cuneta and Concepcion later got married, 1984, three years after “Dear Heart” was released.
However, their romance did not last, as they had their marriage annulled in 1987.
The two actors have a daughter, Maria Kristina Cassandra or KC, who was born in 1985.
