Ely Buendia releases new single with Cheats
OPM legend Ely Buendia is treating fans to new music as he and Saab Magalona’s seven-piece indie rock band Cheats drop a new single.
“Plunder My Heart,” which runs for almost six minutes, was released midnight today, July 24, on various audio streaming platforms.
The new track is the second song collaboration between Buendia and Cheats, the first being “Grizzly Pool,” which was released last year.
In Cheats, vocalist Magalona is joined by husband Jim Bacarro on keyboard and vocals, Candy Gamos also on vocals, Kyle Quismundo and Jason Caballa on guitars, Manny Tanglao on bass and Enzo Hermosa on drums.
Prior to “Grizzly Pool,” their first song collaboration, Buendia and Cheats already worked together for the band’s self-titled debut album, of which Buendia is a producer.
Cheats is also part of Buendia’s independent record label Offshore Music. Buendia, the former vocalist of Eraserheads, is currently the frontman of “supergroup” Apartel.
The singer-songwriter recently expressed his gratitude to fans for their continued support for the local music scene amid the COVID-19 pandemic. /ra
