Multitalented artist Michael V. assured fans that he is getting better as he remains under self-quarantine after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

Despite admitting that he still gets tired easily, the comedian feels that he is recovering from the disease, he revealed in an interview with “24 Oras” yesterday, July 22.

“I am getting better. Hindi pa rin 100% but I am getting better,” Michael V. assured the public. He noted that despite having COVID-19, he does not find it hard to breathe.

He stressed, however, that while under self-quarantine in a room that has everything he needs, he cannot help but feel sad because he can only see his family through a small window for now.

“Lahat naman ng kailangan ko, lahat ng gusto ko nandidito. Parang naging meaningless lahat. Parang… the only thing I needed was my family,” he lamented.

(Everything I need and want is in this room. But everything seems to have become meaningless. It seems that… the only thing I needed was my family.)

An emotional Michael V. also thanked the public for all the well-wishes they have for him, noting that it really helps him as he battles the disease.

“Actually mahirap talaga, malungkot talaga and… ‘di niyo alam [‘yung] pagpapasayang naidulot niyo sa buhay ko at tsaka ‘yung mga dasal niyo, I think it’s very effective,” he said.

(Actually, it really is hard and sad… and you don’t know how much happiness you bring me with your prayers. I think they are very effective.)

On his journey on the road to recovery, Michael V. shared that he has been boosting his immune system and trying out advice from friends.

“Hot lemon and ginger, ‘yun ‘yung mga ini-inhale ko. Basta, kahit anong advice nga ng mga kakilala namin tina-try na namin, wala namang mawawala,” he said. The comedian added that he remains physically active but not to the point that he gets exhausted.

(Hot lemon and ginger, those are what I inhale. We try out any sort of advice we receive from friends because there is nothing to lose anyway.)

As he became the target of a death hoax shortly after publicly revealing his condition, Michael V. appreciated the interview as it helped him debunk what he considers a “bad joke.”

“Actually ang nakakainis pa nun eh minemessage pa ako directly, tinatanong ako. ‘Di ko malaman kung sasagutin ko ng ghost emoji o ano eh,” the comedian quipped.

(Actually, what annoyed me was that some were messaging me directly to ask me [if I am really dead]. I didn’t know if I should answer with a ghost emoji or what.) JB
