MANILA, Philippines — “How do they sleep at night knowing that because of their decision, people are now suffering from sadness, anxiety, panic?”

Kapamilya Actress Anne Curtis posed this question on Saturday days after a House of Representatives panel rejected ABS-CBN’s application for a fresh 25-year franchise.

After the franchise application was denied, the media giant’s veteran journalists Korina Sanchez-Roxas and Ces Drilon announced that they were among the first who will be losing their jobs.

ABS-CBN’s radio employees, disc jockey Czarina Balba, also known as DJ Chacha, also revealed that her FM station, MOR 101.9, will only operate until Aug. 30.

With this, Curtis showed empathy for her ABS-CBN colleagues who were laid off following the franchise denial.

“To my friends and colleagues at ABSCBN, I see your posts here on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and my heart breaks along with you,” the actress penned in her Instagram post.

“I still cannot fathom how those in power could let this happen… I mean how is allowing a company to shut down and people losing jobs they love, a solution to what already is a crazy time?” she further said.

The actress added that she “stands with the workers” and “share their sadness” amid the retrenchment of workers in ABS-CBN.
