MANILA, Philippines — Angel Locsin on Wednesday blasted Presidential spokesman Harry Roque after he criticized the COVID-19 relief efforts of beleaguered network ABS-CBN.

“Pambihira. Imbes na magpasalamat at may sumasalo, nagawa mo pang tuligsain,” the outspoken Kapamilya actress told Roque in an Instagram story entry.
(For goodness sake! Instead of being thankful that someone did it, you even denounced such efforts.)
“Kusang loob po iyan at hindi obligasyon dahil government naman po talaga dapat ang gagawa [nito] pero humingi po kayo ng tulong di ba kasi hindi kaya?” she added.
(Those were even made voluntarily, and were not an obligation because the government should have done so. But you asked for help because you said you didn’t have enough, remember?)
In an interview over ANC, Roque questioned why the media giant “could not have done more” in helping the public with the relief efforts, unlike what the Ayala group and businessman Manny Pangilinan did.
Roque pointed out that most of the network’s relief efforts were from donations through its programs, compared to the efforts of the two Metro Manila water concessionaires—the Ayala-owned Manila Water and the Pangilinan-led Maynilad—which he said “delivered at the time of crisis” and “did it on their own.”
Locsin was not done, and even told the spokesman of President Rodrigo Duterte: “Wala akong narinig na naitulong mo pero nagawa mo pang magsalita ng ganito.”
(I have heard anything about what you contributed, and yet you still made such a statement.)
To date, the Philippines has 58,850 COVID-19 cases, with 20,976 recoveries and 1,614 deaths.
