What worries Aicelle about having a baby

/ 12:40 AM July 14, 2020

After her sizzling turn as Gigi in “Miss S” (Saigon), Aicelle Santos became Mrs. Z (Zambrano). Now, she’s all set for her dream role as “MamAicelle.” The Kapuso star and her hubby, Mark are expecting their firstborn in December. Pregnancy in the time of Corona is quite a delicate thing. Be that as it may, the “Rak of Aegis” darling can hardly wait to sing “Rockabye Baby.”

Here’s my chat with Aicelle:

What excites and scares you about motherhood?

Knowing that my baby is slowly growing in my tummy and the anticipation of delivery day excite me. I look forward to feeling him/her move and kick me from the inside!

FEATURED STORIES

I sometimes worry for my child’s future with all that’s happening around us. Also, I don’t want to get sick or catch the virus. I need to be 100 percent healthy for my baby.

What do you love and hate about being preggy?

I’m loving the whole process of being pregnant. I now take things one day at a time. I move at a slower pace because I want to be careful with everything I do, eat or even think to keep my baby healthy.

Hate is a strong word. If there are some things I don’t like about pregnancy, those are food aversion and nausea. But what can we do? They’re all part of it.

How does Mark ease your struggle of being pregnant in the time of COVID-19?

Mark’s been extra caring. He gives in to all my food cravings, thanks to food deliveries.

Any weird cravings or dislikes?

During my first trimester, some foods tasted like carton or chemical. Now that I’m on my second, there’s less food aversion. I’m liking bread and sweets a lot. And I know I should watch my sugar intake.

What’s one motherhood advice that you intend to follow?

You can only do so much for your children. Let them explore and be confident in God’s plan for them.

Do you and Mark prefer to have a boy or a girl as your firstborn?

Mark wants a girl because girls tend to be “malambing.” I want a boy so our eldest will be a “kuya” figure. But we will welcome whatever God gifts us with, as long as he/she is healthy.

What is your personal mantra as you face the new normal?

This too shall pass. I hold on to God’s promise of healing and peace in the world every day.

How will your GMA 7 show, “Centerstage,” adapt to the new normal?

As of now, there are no plans yet of physically taping “Centerstage” as we are dealing with kids in the show. Hopefully, we can devise a plan that will be safe for everyone. But we have resumed “All Out Sundays (AOS)” (which airs 12:45 p.m., with live streaming ), which we call “AOS Stay Home Party.”

How will you balance being a wife, mother and performer?

With the help of my husband, I am sure dealing with all these is possible. But motherhood has got to be on top, especially in the first years of my baby. Being wife and performer comes second.
