Spending the past three months in quarantine has reminded Vic Sotto of something people may take for granted amid their daily hustle: The importance of family.
“It’s something I have realized these past 85 days or so. Every day, we leave our homes and set off for work. But there are times when we forget our duties to our families,” Vic said in a video call aired on the noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga!,” which recently resumed production in accordance with general community quarantine protocols.
If there’s anyone who has benefited the most from him and his wife, Pauleen Luna, staying at home, it’s their 2-year-old daughter, Tali.
The veteran television host-actor is glad he gets to spend a lot of quality time with his youngest kid, who has just finished potty training. She can count from one to 10 in different languages, too—Filipino, English, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish. “She has been learning a lot of things. When classes open again she will go straight to first year high school!” jested Vic, who’s also starting to embrace his greying hair.
Spending his entire days with his family only highlighted what he has been missing. “You really see your family’s love … even those who are far from us and we haven’t seen in a while,” the 66-year-old star added. “You feel how important family is, especially for us Filipinos.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
