Luis keeps mouth shut about Jen

LUIS Manzano

Luis Manzano would rather not comment on the talk that Jennylyn Mercado foots the bill in their dates sometimes.

“Anything to do with Jen and I or anyone else I’d rather keep my mouth shut,” Luis says. “I would not use it for publicity.” I clarified the issue with Jennylyn as well. “Luis and I just laugh about that,” Jen says. “We don’t know where that chismis came from. Parang ’di naman nila alam ang sinasabi nila at gusto lang kaming siraan ni Luis. Nakakahiya naman sa pamilya ni Luis na respetado ng lahat.”

No doubt, Luis is gentleman enough to know that love requires not just full emotional investment but financial investment, too. Being with Jen should always be time and money well-spent for him.

Not ready

I saw Roxanne Guinoo and her hubby at Joey G’s “Side Ko Lang” concert at the Music Museum. Doesn’t she have plans of going back to show biz?

“Saka na when my baby turns 1 year old,” she said. “Grane is now 9 months old. I enjoy being a hands-on mom.”

Not yet ready for her close-up, the fab mom prefers to wash up (her baby).

Private wedding

Say Alonzo finally said “I do” to businessman Ryan Tordesillas last June 11 at Our Lady of  Lourdes Parish in Tagaytay. The modern romantic fairy tale-themed reception was held at Ville Sommet. The cute couple kept it simple and intimate.

“Even if I’m from show biz, I didn’t allow any TV coverage,” said the bride. “It’s out of respect for my husband’s family na very private. But my closest friends in the biz were present, like Sam Milby, Ara Mina, IC Mendoza, LJ Reyes, Kian Kazemi and Chariz Solomon.”

Say’s fave moment was when she and Ryan did a duet of “I’ve Had The Time of My Life” from the movie “Dirty Dancing.”

“Everyone had a blast,” she said. “So we extended the party for two hours. Though there were budget constraints, we found creative ways to bring our imagination to life.”

Now the newlyweds are set to live a life beyond their pure imagination and wildest dreams. Congrats Say and Ryan. May you love happily ever after!

Star material

Thanks to Carousel Productions for inviting me to be one of the judges of Miss Philippines Earth held in Palawan. The finalists are all star material. I would not be surprised if some of them would join show biz.

The winner Athena Mae Imperial is the shortest of them all but the depth of her answers in the pageant more than made up for that.

Spotted at the fab after-party held at Centro Hotel were John  Estrada, Priscilla Meirelles, Ayen Laurel, Ricky Reyes, Chavit Singson, Ginger Conejero, Chit Guerrero, Direk Alco Guerrero, Eric Pineda, Mario Dumaual, Carousel’s power couple Ramon and Lorraine Monzon, Ping Valencia, Peachy Veneracion and mon cheri amour Raoul Teehankee.

Though I didn’t find my prinsipe in Puerto Princesa, I immensely enjoyed my tour of Palawan especially my visit to the Underground River. Palawan is truly a wonderland!
