WATCH: Lara Quigaman, Marco Alcaraz expecting third son
Lara Quigaman and Marco Alcaraz revealed that they will be welcoming another son into their family, weeks after the actress announced she is pregnant.
The couple shared their third child’s gender through a simple gender-reveal celebration in their home. They posted a video of the event on their YouTube page earlier today, June 4.
Prior to disclosing whether a son or a daughter was on the way, Alcaraz thanked their fans for praying for Quigaman since they were worried about the baby’s health amid the quarantine. While Quigaman was unable to visit the doctor for some check-ups due to the pandemic, they assured that their upcoming child is healthy after their latest visit to the doctor.
The couple also asked their maids at home and loved ones from the United Kingdom, Canada, Cebu and Dubai to share their guesses on the gender of the baby. Most of them gave guesses based on superstitions about a woman’s pregnancy. One of the superstitions stated that Quigaman was set to give birth to a girl since she appeared to be “blooming” during her pregnancy so far.
Meanwhile, their two sons, Noah and Tobias, had different hopes for their sibling’s gender. Noah wished for a girl since there were already two sons in the family, while Tobias hoped for another brother.
After hearing the guesses of their loved ones, the jubilant parents finally revealed their third child’s gender by popping a large black balloon that released blue confetti.
Upon the reveal, Noah immediately walked out of the room and cried, explaining that he really wanted to have a baby sister. Prior to sharing the gender with their family members, Quigaman and Alcaraz had already known about it the day before.
When they learned they were having another son, Quigaman quipped that her dreams of her children have always been proven to be correct since she dreamt twice of having a third baby boy. While Alcaraz would have loved to raise a daughter like the late basketball star Kobe Bryant, he stressed that he was happy to have another healthy son on the way.
Alcaraz later joked that they only needed two more sons to be able to form a basketball team that he would coach. Quigaman also said in jest that they might still have one more baby in the future.
Quigaman then turned emotional and asked her fans who hoped she was having a daughter to not think of their upcoming son as “sayang (a waste).”
“This baby is not sayang (a waste),” Quigaman stated while lovingly holding her growing belly. “This baby is a gift. This baby is a blessing.”
Quigaman is due to give birth this September. /ra
