As Metro Manila and other areas in the country shift to fewer restrictions under the general community quarantine (GCQ), celebrities reminded Filipinos to remain cautious about their health.

The loosened restrictions on movement starting today, June 1, comes despite rising cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country, with over 18,000 patients as of writing.

“Going back to work doesn’t mean that CoViD19 has gone away. It will be a part of our concern and an enemy to us all, and until a cure is finally found IT WILL BE PART of the new norm,” warned singer Gary Valenciano on Twitter. “Keep your guard up friends…at all times.”

“You need to go back to work. We can only hope that after almost 80 days of lockdown, hinanda na ang pagbabalik trabaho (going back to work has been prepared),” wrote actress Agot Isidro. “So please practice OC-ness. Your first defense is all these safety precautions. Mag-ingat po kayo (Please stay safe).”

“Follow rules. WEAR YOUR MASKS for others,” actress Solenn Heussaff urged.

“Remember, just because somebody places cake on the table and says you CAN eat it, doesn’t mean you SHOULD,” advised TV host Joyce Pring last night, May 31. “Err on the side of caution, is what [I’m] trying to say, dahil GCQ na bukas (because it is GCQ). Ingat mga friends (Stay safe friends).”

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Pangasinan, Albay and Davao City are in GCQ while the rest of the country is under modified GCQ. JB
