Angel Locsin’s SUV, Anne Curtis’ bag up for sale to raise funds for COVID-19 testing

MANILA, Philippines — Actress Angel Locsin’s sports utility vehicle and Anne Curtis’ luxury bag are up for sale in an effort to raise funds in ramping up the country’s coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing.

Locsin’s 2015 Dodge Durango was the first item for sale in a project dubbed “Shop & Share” that is aimed “to cover the expense for testing kits to the underprivileged.”

Curtis’ Chanel Cruise Boy North South Handbag 2019 was also shared on the project’s Instagram account.

The project’s launching date is yet to be announced, but other celebrities set to take part in the initiative are Dimples Romana, Bea Alonzo, Regine Velasquez, Dingdong Dantes, Joshua Garcia, among others.

In an earlier post, Locsin said “Shop & Share” was first done in 2009 to help those affected by Typhoon Ondoy.

“We would like to revisit the idea of artists coming together and helping those who need it the most. This time, with the funds we raise, we would like to purchase test kits and allow testing opportunities for the poorer sectors in the hopes of helping out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the country,” Locsin said.

“Because in this way we can make a higher impact, by pushing the TEST-TRACE-ISOLATE/TREAT formula that is the only proven way to defeat the virus,” she added.

Curtis also called on her fellow celebrities to join the project in a bid to raise funds for COVID-19 testing.

“To our fellow artists and colleagues, if you would like to be part of this, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

We do hope you can join us as we all work together to help flatten the curve in the Philippines in our own little way,” Curtis said.
