Kean Cipriano and Chynna Ortaleza sang their original track titled “Sulyap” while staying at home during the enhanced community quarantine.
Ortaleza posted their duet on her Instagram page last Monday, May 25, explaining how they had written the tune.
The actress recalled that they started working on the song when they had dinner with their friend and singer-songwriter Mark Carpio one day. Following the dinner, the married couple eventually completed the piece in the living room of their old home.
“Kagabi naman habang nasa sala sinubukan namin kantahin ulit (Last night while we were in our living room, we tried to sing [the song] again),” Ortaleza said.
The actress also spoke about what inspired the song, saying, “Napa tanong kasi talaga ako dati nung nagsisimula ng lumalim ang damdamin ko kay Kean.. Ikaw na kaya sagot sa dalangin ko?”
(I asked myself before when my feelings for Kean started getting more serious: “Are you the answer to my prayer?”)
She quickly answered her own question, expressing that Cipriano was indeed the answer to her prayer.
The couple tied the knot during a civil ceremony way back in 2015 and now have two children, Stella and Salem. /ra
