Angel Locsin taps NBI to arrest netizens tagging her as Reds-supporter, threatening to kill her

MANILA, Philippines — Angel Locsin on Wednesday called on the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to arrest certain netizens who tagged her as a supporter of Communist rebels, and even threatened to kill her.

In an Instagram post, the actress shared screenshots of certain netizens—the first one offered a P200 billion bounty to anyone who can kill her and fellow Kapamilya stars Kim Chiu and Coco Martin.

“Isa ba kayo sa mga supporter ni Pangulong Duterte? Pwes, I will give you 200-million sa sinumang mga Duterte at GMA supporters ang makakapatay kina Kim Chiu, Coco Marin, and Angel Locsin. Makakasama nyo ang NPA para pasabugin ang ABS-CBN Compound.”

Another netizen said that Locsin was a supporter of the New People’s Army (NPA), adding that anything she says should not be believed.

“Angel Locsin is [an] NPA supporter, kaya hindi dapat paniniwalaan sinasabi ng babaeng ‘yan,” the netizen said.

“Hello, NBI? Beke nemen po… (Hello” Locsin said in her post.

Locsin’s request may have been a reference to the NBI’s move of arresting a teacher from Olongapo who posted on social media a  P50 million reward to anyone who can kill Duterte.

The Olongapo Regional Trial Court later ordered the teacher’s release after spending eight days in detention.

Another report cited that businessman from Agusan del Norte was also arrested for cyberlibel after calling Duterte “buang” (crazy) on social media.
