Darren Espanto is set to hold an online benefit concert to celebrate his 19th birthday on Sunday, May 24.
The event, called “D’ Birthday Concert – From Home,” will be livestreamed on his Facebook page, as per his Instagram post yesterday, May 19.
The celebration will benefit ABS-CBN’s “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” program, which provides food to those who can no longer make a living due to the quarantine measures imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Espanto’s fellow singers Gary Valenciano and Moira dela Torre will be appearing in the show as his special guests.
Along with Espanto, other artists such as Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez have also held online benefit shows, with Cuneta’s benefiting the “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” campaign as well and Velasquez’s concert raising funds for Bantay Bata 163, a social welfare program for disadvantaged children. /ra
