Korean actor Park Ji-hoon, 31, succumbs to stomach cancer

MANILA, Philippines — Korean model-turned-actor Park Ji-hoon has passed away at the age of 31 due to stomach cancer, his family confirmed Friday.

In an Instagram post, the actor’s family disclosed Park died on May 11 after battling stomach cancer.

His family also thanked friends and supporters for their comfort even as they face the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“We deeply thank everyone who sent their warm comfort and encouragement even during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak,” the message over Instagram said, as quoted and translated in a report by Soompi.

“Thanks to you, we were not alone as we sent my younger brother to heaven. Your support was a huge source of strength to not only me, but to our entire family. We will never forget it,” it added.

Park was most known for his appearance in Korean drama series “Chicago Typewriter” which aired in 2017.
