MANILA, Philippines — On Mother’s Day, actress Heart Evangelista received a simple but sweet, meaningful gift from her step children who thanked her for being their “mother figure” while in quarantine amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Heart shared how Quino and Chesi Escudero, children of her husband Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, prepared lunch for her on Mother’s Day.
A photo of Quino’s handwritten letter for the actress was also posted via her Instagram stories Sunday.
“Thank you for always being here for us and being basically our mother figure while in quarantine and we don’t see Daddy and our mom everyday,” Quino’s letter read.
“We saw how strong you are and how you can take care of a household without having experience as a parent,” he added.
Quino also promised to support Heart as he shared seeing the latter experience “anxiety” especially after the passing of their pet dog Casper.
“But, we also see that you still need support from others whenever a situation like Casper’s passing and your anxiety and other things we see, so we will also promise to be there for you as you have been there for us especially these past few weeks,” Quino said.
Quino and Chesi are Escudero’s children with his ex-wife Christine Flores.
It was in 2015 when Escuero and the actress tied the knot.
