Divine Lee opted to have her daughter Blanca blessed by a priest via a video call after the scheduled baptism was postponed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Today is the epitome of the new normal,” the socialite said as she posted photos from her child’s online blessing on Instagram last Sunday, April 26.
Lee explained that baby Blanca was set to be baptized next month for a double celebration with her son Baz’s birthday, joking that it would save money. However, the event had to be pushed back. In light of the rescheduling, Fr. Tito Caluag suggested an online blessing via the video conferencing app Zoom for the time being.
“I was asking Father to make me a prayer for Blanca since she hasn’t been baptized and to calm my worries, he opted for a blessing,” Lee added.
Despite the virtual occasion being a first for Lee and her family, she noted that it was “none the less as special.”
“We need all the prayers for our little ones,” she said. “Not just to protect them from harm but also, after all this, to give them a better world. A kinder one. A caring one.”
“Life is so fleeting and so unpredictable, that my wishes for them are now back to basics- to grow up healthy, happy and good,” Lee expressed. “As a mom, having her blessed is one less worry for me.”
While Lee’s loved ones could not be with them physically, they still attended the online blessing. Lee pointed out that there were two pages during the call due to the number of family and friends that joined them.
She also quipped that the virtual event saved her from spending since she did not buy a new outfit for Blanca nor did she have to order food for guests.
Following the blessing, Lee stated that they will still hold a proper baptism for Blanca “when [they] can.”
Lee gave birth to Blanca last October. She is Lee’s second child with her husband, Blake Go. /ra
