Gwyneth Paltrow is auctioning off a dress she wore to the Oscars to raise funds for food banks in the United States. However, she once said it was not a favorite look.

The A-list actress has joined the “All In Challenge” where Hollywood stars are auctioning items and experiences to help feed Americans in need during the COVID-19 crisis.

“I am going to auction off my year 2000 Oscar dress,” Paltrow said in a video on Instagram Saturday, April 18.

In an effort to focus on organizations providing food assistance, I have joined the #allinchallenge which is raising money for @mealsonwheelsamerica, @nokidhungry, @wckitchen, @feedingamerica and @americasfoodfund. I am donating a dress I wore to the Oscars (and that holds great sentimental value!) which I will personally hand to you over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Go to allinchallenge.com to bid as 100% of funds will go to help Americans currently experiencing food insecurity. I love you @garyvee for being part of this. I now challenge @drewbarrymore @camerondiaz and @lakebell.

“It was a hand-beaded Calvin Klein dress I wore to the Oscars the year after I won and it’s very end of the ‘90s, which is back in style now, so I thought it would be a good one to donate.”

She also promised to personally give the dress “over a cup of tea or a glass of wine.”

Starting bid is at $2,500 (P127,000), as seen in the All In Challenge’s website.

Paltrow said about the dress on her lifestyle site Goop in 2013: “It’s an okay dress but not Oscars material. I chose it because I wanted to disappear that year.”

Despite her sentiments, the dress has had 17 bids as of writing and is bidding at $6,250 (around P317,500). JB
