Barbie’s to-do list after lockdown

Barbie Forteza

Celebrities are used to being mobbed wherever they go. But all of a sudden, there is no clamor for photo-ops and autographs as stars are quarantined, just like all of us. And just like that, the pandemic has rained on their (showbiz) parade.

Since TV and movie projects have been put on hold and controversies are nonexistent in the time of COVID-19, I find it more interesting to interview stars now that they can be more of themselves.

Quarantine has stripped off the glitz and glamour. It is making us see showbiz personalities as ordinary people, too.

For the third part of my “QuarantInterview” series, I am featuring Kapuso sweetheart Barbie Forteza. Let’s take a peek into the cocooned life of Barbie in her “dollhouse.”

Here’s my chat with Barbie:

How do you and Jak (Roberto, her boyfriend) keep your relationship strong in the time of COVID-19?

He knows my routine well so, he serves as my alarm clock every day. I usually wake up to his video call. Basically, he starts my day with his sleepy voice, and I do not mind hearing it at all.

What’s the most productive thing you’ve done during quarantine?

I’m finally working out again—and, this time, I get to do it regularly. When I feel like my body is getting used to an exercise and I don’t sweat as much anymore, I combine two or three exercises together so that there’s more effort and, so far, it’s been working well.

If you could choose to be under quarantine with any celeb, who would you pick?

I would love to be under quarantine with either Meryl Streep or Sean Penn. I’d only have one question for them, “How do you do it?”

Meryl Streep

Sean Penn

What’s the first thing you want to do when the pandemic is over?

Get my haircut and treatment, go to my derma, get my eyelash extensions, get pampered at the nail salon, get a massage, eat ramen and have coffee with Jak.

What are the “quaran-tunes” on your playlist that help you stay calm?

I only listen to music when I’m working out. Rihanna keeps me going and sometimes, I even sing along with her while I plank.

What are the top five things on your grocery list during this crisis?

Eggs, mushrooms (surprisingly), butter, milk and instant coffee

While you watch the rerun of your show “Meant to Be,” what do you remember most about it?

I remember how much fun we had doing it. When I watch some of the scenes, I remember the inside jokes we shared during blocking, especially my scenes with Sef Cadayona (who played Kuya Bats).
