Being in the spotlight is in the job description of celebrities. But because of the pandemic, stars are suddenly relegated to the background. Even if we have put them on a pedestal, we are now on equal footing with them due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Since celebs have no concerts, movies or TV shows to promote during this health crisis, I’ve come up with a “QuarantInterview” series to get to know a little more about the stars’ “quarantined life.”
For my second installment of the series, I am featuring my cool friend, Erik Santos. He’s such a good vibes (GV) provider. We all could use some GV to combat our CV (COVID-19) fears.
Here’s my chat with Erik:
What are you learning about yourself during this crisis?
That we should invest more on relationships (family, loved ones, friends) and create beautiful memories than collect earthly possessions.
What’s the most productive thing you’ve done during the ECQ (enhanced community quarantine)?
Spring cleaning and cooking for my family. It gives me a sense of fulfillment whenever I cook for them. I just found out na masarap pala akong magluto (laughs). If you could choose to be under quarantine with any celebrity, who would you pick?
Adele. She’s one of my ultimate favorite female singers of all time. I wish to sing with her and listen to her life story and experiences all day.
What’s the first thing you want to do when the pandemic is over?
I will sing “This is the Moment”—to the highest level—like I’ve never sung it before.
What are the “quaran-tunes” on your playlist that help you stay calm these days?
They consist of mostly Praise and worship songs.
What are the top five things on your grocery list during this crisis?
Rice, alcohol and sanitizers, bread, canned goods and vitamins.
What COVID-related story impacted you the most?
Every single update.
If you could serenade the front-liners, what song would you sing for them?
“I’ll Never Go.” I want to let them feel that they aren’t alone in this battle. I always pray for strength, encouragement and protection for them. I keep them in my prayers every single day.
When the lockdown period is over, what are some of the changes you would implement in the way you live?
I’d spend more time traveling. Life is short, so make the most out of it with God’s guidance.
How do you keep a positive attitude amid the health scare?
I pray, pray and pray. It’s how I get my strength, comfort and peace. Having a quiet time with God has already been a habit. It’s the greatest thing one could ever experience.
What’s your personal mantra these days?
I believe in the saying that the darker it gets, the brighter His ray of hope and love shines. INQ
