MANILA, Philippines—Angelica Panganiban and friends on Thursday prepared 450 ready-to-eat meals for frontliners at the Medical City and the Cardinal Santos Medical Center amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Panganiban was joined by Barbie Imperial, Pocholo Barretto, and Smokey Manaloto, among others, in preparing and packing the food, as seen on her Instagram post on the same day.
They were able to make sarsiadong pampano and blue marlin, adobong pusit, baked salmon with salmon fritters, chicken barbecue, boneless ribs, giniling with eggs, chop suey, salted egg shrimp, roast beef, longganisang hubad with eggs, crablets, and adobo with pork cracklings.
Panganiban and the team previously gave away 300 food packs to frontliners at the Diliman Doctors Hospital and the Philippine Heart Center for the first wave of their food operations last week. Both batches were cooked and prepared at the Timog branch of Tipsy Pig Gastropub, which Panganiban is part-owner of.
“Sa next wave po namin, nais po namin mag bigay tulong sa mga barangays na nahihirapan maka kuha ng supplies. Bukas po ang comments para makapag bigay kayo ng suggestions. At gagawin po ng grupo ang lahat ng makakaya,” the actress said.
(For our next wave, we would like to help out barangays that are having a difficult time in securing supplies. The comments section is open for your suggestions, and the group will do everything we can.)
Panganiban also expressed her gratitude to those who helped in the ope: “Salamat ulit @jared_stotomas at sa tipsy cooks natin para sa nakakagigil na pagkain. Special shout out to @teamangelsofficial11 sa donation. Sila po ang sumagot ng packaging for today. Malaking malaking bagay.”
