Gab Valenciano helps feed over 6,000 families in QC amid quarantine

Gab Valenciano helped feed over 6,000 families in Quezon City amid the ongoing enhanced community quarantine.

Valenciano works with his friends Victor Pring and Dave Valmocina to provide the food to various communities in the city, as seen on his Instagram page yesterday, April 15. The latest area they visited was Barangay Payatas.

Prior to the said barangay, they distributed meals to Barangay Bagong Silangan, Plastikan Compound and Barangay Holy Spirit. Valenciano also uploaded moments from their previous visits on his profile.

“During this quarantine period, a lot can be said about our current status in society,” Valenciano said. “The violence, the anger, the hate and the fear. But what you see right here is where the strength of our people scream the loudest.”

“I am proud not just of our amazing team of volunteers and frontliners, but the resilience, kindness and generosity many have shown through this very dark time,” he added, alongside a series of photos from their latest visit.

Those participating in the initiative also follow precautions against COVID-19 during the distribution of food. Valenciano and his friends wore face masks and face shields when handing out the meals, while the residents of the barangay also had their own masks.

Valenciano stated that he and his friends have helped over 6,000 families through their initiative called Vital Pilipinas, adding that the experience has been an “eye-opener” for them.

“We don’t have any plans to stop nor slow down,” Valenciano said. “This is just the beginning and I am blessed by the support we are gaining all over the world.”  /ra
