Quarantine life as rich source of comedy
If there’s one thing that stand-up comedian-writer Alex Calleja realized while forced to stay at home because of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, it was that the home is a treasure trove of materials for comedy.
Alex said that because of the enhanced community quarantine imposed by the government to help curb the spread of the virus, he got to spend more time with his family.
“Busy schedule from my stand-up comedy and other show biz projects kept me from spending time with them,” he said when Inquirer Entertainment asked him what’s best about being stuck at home for a month now.
“I also have more time … writing more comedy materials based on quarantine and lockdown situations,” said Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in the World 2016 finalist.
Alex is also a member of Comedy Manila, a production house that promotes and aims to revolutionize local stand-up comedy.
