“Game of Thrones” star Miltos Yerolemou had a heartfelt message for the doctors in The Medical City in Ortigas who are combating the spread of COVID-19.

The actor, who portrayed Syrio Forel, the sword-fighting teacher of Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) in the popular TV series, called the health workers heroes for their service amid the pandemic. The hospital uploaded a clip of him expressing his gratitude on Facebook last Friday, April 10.

Yerolemou’s short message came after his friend’s father had died due to the disease last week.

“His family told me of the care that your team gave him and the brave work that you do for all your patients each and every day,” the United Kingdom-based actor said.

“You face fatigue, shortages of supplies, and a very real risk of infection,” he added. “They want you to know that you, all of you are their heroes.”

“They also asked me to tell you to keep safe, rest well and to take care,” Yerolemou said, as he named some of the doctors at the hospital.

The actor then extended the family’s gratitude to the staff, adding that they keep the healthcare workers in their prayers every day.

Before ending his message, he switched to Tagalog, saying, “Huwag po kayong susuko. Bayani po kayong lahat. Maraming maraming salamat po.”

(Do not give up. You are all heroes. Many many thanks.)

“Remember: there is only one thing we say to the god of death: Not today,” Yerolemou stressed, referring to one of his popular lines in the show.

“Stay strong, stay safe, and thank you for everything that you do,” he added.

The number of confirmed cases in the Philippines has increased to 4,428, as of yesterday, April 11. The Department of Health also reported that 157 patients have recovered while 247 have died. JB
